Healthy Lunch Ideas Made Easy
One of the most difficult things to maintain healthy living is a healthy diet plan. We are constantly surrounded by food that is easy to pop in the microwave and our lives are so busy, that we succumb to this. For children and working parents, this can be a challenge when packing lunches. What is easier than packing in a piece of pie or a slice of bread, or giving them money to buy something from the canteen? A daily routine of this type of behavior is not healthy at all. Here are some healthy lunch ideas made easy!
1Roast Beef and Horseradish Wrap
Wraps are great to prepare for lunch because you can make them the previous evening, pop them in the fridge and pack them in the next morning. Roast beef is a delicious cut of meat and it is packed with healthy proteins. It makes it easier for you if you had roast beef the night before – just pop the leftovers onto the wrap! You can, of course, customise this type of wrap any way you want it, even though horseradish is full of essential vitamins and minerals.
2Berry Goat-Cheese Salad
Salads are a great way to start living healthy, but they tend to become boring. The berry goat-cheese salad is the perfect way to maintain that healthy standard of living but to add some extra flavor in there. Prepare a normal chicken salad and add blueberries (frozen or fresh), pecans, tomatoes, spinach, goat cheese, and strawberries. Tomatoes are a great fat burner on their own and goat-cheese is a better alternative than normal cheddar cheese. The berries are bound to give you an explosive taste sensation and just with the wraps you can pick and choose what you add or subtract from this meal.
Chicken is a very important source of protein and because it is a lean meat, it is much healthier than red meat. Substitute your bread with a Panini, which is a lot lighter in calories, but still delivers that same full feeling you would get from a chicken mayo sandwich. Add black forest ham, Swiss cheese, and some delicious marinara sauce. You can also toast this in the sandwich press if you have one so that it is warm and toasty when you eat it at work (or when your kids eat it at school).
4Grilled Chicken and Pineapple Sandwich
If you are a sandwich lover, that isn’t a problem at all. To live healthily you can substitute the fillings with healthier options. Grilled chicken is great as it eliminates most of the fat during cooking. Add some spices to it and chop up some pineapple and put that in a sandwich to eat it!
5Turkey and Cucumber Sandwich
Turkey is another great way to spice up a sandwich if you are tired of chicken. It is very high in protein and goes great with almost anything. Slice up some tomatoes and cucumber with a touch of mayo, and you’re good to go!
